Body and Facial Waxing

We offer a wide range of waxing services, from quick and easy eyebrow touch-ups to full body hair removal. Waxing leaves your skin smooth for weeks, thus creating cleaner and more sanitary areas all over your body. Waxing along with exfoliating can help reduce ingrown hairs and eliminate razor bumps. When you wax, your hair grows back less dense; leaving your hair finer and softer. A common misconception is that your hair grows back thicker – this is absolutely not true.

Is waxing painful?
Everybody has different pain tolerance levels. You should expect to feel a slight stinging sensation when the hair is ripped out. This sensation should only last a couple of seconds. We always recommend taking an ibuprofen 30 minutes to one hour before your scheduled appointment. We suggest avoiding numbing products. These products inhibit the client from sensing if the wax is too hot on their skin. The more you wax- the thinner your hair follicle will get. Which means- if you wax consistently without shaving in between services, waxing will be less and less painful each time!

How long can I enjoy the results of my wax?
You should make sure that your hair is at least ¼ of an inch (or as long as a grain of rice) before you get waxed. This will ensure that all of the hair can be removed. If you let you hair grow out properly before your wax, you can expect to be hair-free for a minimum of 1-2 weeks. You should expect two additional weeks of growing your hair to the length it needs to be to wax again.

There are many factors that contribute to hair growth rates, including medication and hormones.

Can I get waxed if I am taking medication?
Many medications increase the sensitivity of your skin. We do not recommend waxing while using Retin-A, Renova, or Accutane. There are many medications that affect the skin and the skin’s integrity (glycolic acid, lactic acid, benzyl peroxide, salicylic acid, alpha hydroxyl acid, vitamin A, prescribed exfoliating scrubs, antibiotics, hormonal medications, radiation and/or chemotherapy drugs). Please consult with your physician in regards to any medications and how it may affect your waxing experience. Some brand names to be aware of: Adapalene, Avita, Tazorac Avage, Proactiv(e), Differin, or Strivectin. Our waxing specialists are skincare specialists and skilled determining the safety of your skin. Please let your waxing specialist know before your service if you are on any medications or have had any skin care services. They can assist in determining the best options for hair removal.

How should I prepare for my waxing service?
We recommend exfoliating the area you plan on having waxed with a scrub or a loofah for several days before your wax. Keep the area clean, free of residue, oils, lotions and makeup before your service. If you tend to have a low pain tolerance, we suggest taking an ibuprofen 30 minutes- 1 hour before your scheduled service.

What can I expect after my waxing service?
Often you might see redness and small red bumps directly after waxing. These should subside in just a few hours and is a normal reaction to your waxing service. Avoid hot water, standing water, sun exposure, lotions and heavy products in the area that was waxed for at least 24 hours. As always, if you have any questions or concerns- do not hesitate to call us.
